Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. Burrell was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell is host on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious establishments, studied the Italian food and culture as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. I couldn't seem to get enough out of the experience. Following graduation from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship role. Anne said she felt lucky that I could be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
