Milena Markovna Kunis was born to a Ukrainian Jewish family on August 14, 1983 in Chernivtsi, a city in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union (now Ukraine).Her mother, Elvira, is a Physics teacher, who also runs pharmacies, while her father, Mark Kunis, is an engineer in the mechanical field who works as a cab driver. Kunis is the elder sister of Michael. Her parents were Holocaust survivors. Russian is her mother tongue.
