Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is a model, actress, and director from England. Wright is most well-known for her performance in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She remained in the role for ten years, before moving to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Following the series, Wright appeared in a series of independent films including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014) which were met with mixed reviews. She made her stage debut as the lead in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from the University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in filmmaking. Her company was later established as her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began making short films. Her first project in the direction of a director was the coming-of age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) which starred David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical appreciation. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films featured emotions and landscapes as the main themes. Wright's trilogy, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador of Greenpeace, Lumos and has received recognition for her environmental activism.
